The US-Mexico game in Columbus next month sold out in 20 minutes yesterday. Well not exactly, but it’s still pretty impressive.
Tickets went on pre-sale a week ago to local groups, Crew season ticket holders and fans who have registered at ussoccer.com. This was done in an effort to get as pro a US crowd as possible. However, I’m sure a decent number of enterprising Mexican fans will have managed to get tickets as well.

Completely under the radar it seems that the US has made it to the final of the Gold Cup after beating Honduras last night 2-1. It’s a shame really. The largest competition the US play in (outside of the World Cup) and it’s near impossible for most English speakers in this country to follow. I know it’s not worth it to me to pay extra to get the channels it’s on.
Anyway, Panama on Sunday. good luck to the boys. Too bad Arena won’t be on the sidelines as it seems …

Did anyone see the US-Cuba match last night? Nope, me either. Ya see, CONCACAF, in it’s wisdom decided to sell the rights to the Gold Cup (North America’s biggest competition) to a Spanish Language network. I have no idea if I get this Teleflora (something like that) Channel or not…and to be honest, I don’t care.
Seriously, why should I bother? As an English speaking person living in the US, it’s difficult enough to follow the sport of soccer and in order to do so, you have to spend a lot …

It’s never too soon to be looking ahead. I haven’t posted in a few days as my wife went into labor on Thursday. By Friday morning we got to meet ‘lil PZ. Expect him to be on the US squad for the 2026 World Cup. (well, daddy can dream right)
I haven’t seen anything from games last weekend, but normal rambling should resume soon.
