What a busy time. In case you are the 2 visitors I get to this blog that aren’t my mom, I just moved again. Ok, it was only cross town but with everything that’s taken place the last few weeks, it may as well have been a much longer move. Anyway, between that, school and work (can’t forget to pay the bills) I’ve just not had the time to really post lately. So, I’m gonna share a few thoughts though I’ll probably forget half of what I wanted to say.

I grew up in the UK and used to fall for the “chicken little” type of reporting which goes on in the UK. Some of it is justified–Band/Live Aid would never have existed if it wasn’t for the BBC–but a lot of it is just sensationalistic hype.
Here’s a classic example.
England players will be covered with insurance indemnity of up to £100,000 a week in the event of injuries suffered in the Euro 2008 qualifier against Russia on the artificial pitch here tomorrow.

Wow, ABC/ESPN have bought the rights to the 2008 Euro Championships.
All 31 games will be televised in the United States: two by ABC and the rest by ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN Classic. The tournament will be played in Austria and Switzerland from June 7-29.
It wasn’t that long ago that I had to go to a pub to see the matches on closed circuit and pay at the door to see it. Now it’s on free (well, over the air and basic cable) TV. Who said no one in this country …

We keep hearing about using replays in soccer to judge things. I’ve never been a real proponent of that. However, if leagues were to review players diving, and suspend culprits, I would be in favor of that. Yeah, it would be after the fact and the players involved would have still had the advantage during the match…But if they have to miss more matches, would it be enough to get them to stop? I’d think so.
Anyway, at least one club have decided to put an end …

I was sure this score would go into double digits. However, Liverpool only manage a 3-0 win over Welsh champions TNS. It could have been closer if Steven Gerrard wasn’t playing as he got all three goals.
