I realize I haven’t posted in a while but to be honest, I probably would have just ranted about something or other so I decided to keep myself limited to 140 characters.
However, do to some serendipitous events, possibly due to some planetary alignment or the SuperMoon, I found myself flipping through all the games last night and felt the urge to write something.
First, besides the late games (Goats cramming those attending into parts of the stadium to make it look fuller than it was, and Smurph fans scared of a …

I’m a bit slow today…did this really just happen?
The MLS all-time leader in goals scored retires from playing and just takes over for the departing (forced out?) John Ellinger? Wow. Oh and the GM, Steve Pastorino looking for a new gig as well.
Well, something had to happen eventually. They can’t go on as the worst team in the league forever…oh yeah, Toronto are now playing.

I’ve got a little time today so I thought I’d quickly mention some things which has caught my eye lately.
Where the heck is Collinsville? Continuing the trend of putting stadiums well outside the cities the teams are named after, St Louis looks like they are well on the road to getting a stadium for a possible MLS team.
Speaking of stadiums, will RSL ever get theirs?
…And then there’s KC who have had to bring in reinforcements to find somewhere (anywhere) to play. I’m hoping something good happens soon for them.
There’s always …

I don’t think I can remember an off season quite as busy as this one for Soccer in this country. It’s about time MLS kept the news flow going during the winter months.
So, I’m now getting used to the fact that Bob Bradley is the new national team coach. I’ve had a few days to reflect on the hiring and I’ve decided it’s not the end of the world. I’m sure he’ll do a great job. But the thing is, he’s not the guy who is …

Once again, the Open Cup offers us some giant-killing results and some favorites needed Extra Time to get past smaller teams.
Rochester 2 - 1 Virginia Beach
Rochester needed a late winner to get past the rival USL 1 team.
Western Mass 1 - 3 Chicago
Chicago went a goal down early on the road against the USL 2 side before getting three back before the break.
Charlotte 2 - 3 Chivas (AET)
Chivas had to fight to get past the USL 2 side and didn’t come out on top until Extra Time was played.
Atlanta 1 …

I love this competition. I just wish there was a way of effectively doing more with it. but I do enjoy seeing the USL teams match up against the Big Boys. Maybe one day it’ll reach more people and ticket sales won’t be such a huge disappointment. I could go on a major rant on how things could be done better, but I’m trying to stay positive so I’ll just look on where we are in this years competition.
We are currently in the 3rd Round of this years competition.

Yes, it’s been a while since I last posted on here. My life has taken a few unexpected turns which has led me to move halfway cross the country and away from LA. But if you’re reading this, I doubt you care about me so I’ll just promise now that the new MLS season has started to be more vigilant with my posts.
So, here are a few recent observations of mine:
The whole Landon Donovan to LA deal seems a bit strange any way you look at it. The AEG spin …
