Wow, I never thought I’d see the day when the Football League (that’s everyone below the EPL and above the Conference) decided to do away with ties and go to a shoot-out. We all know how well that turned out over here. There were too many injuries and, well, people (ie fans) just didn’t like it. It’s bad enough to kiss your sister (silly phrase about a tie) but to drop an additional 2 points in this way really is frustrating.

Boy, what a hornet’s nest. The signing of Beckham has really stirred things up. Soccer fans in this country have suspected he would probably end up playing in MLS but I doubt many would have predicted it would be this soon.

I just stumbled across The NASL Alumni Association web site. Does anyone know anything about them? They’ll be having a reunion in Dallas in September. could be interesting.
I know MLS did a lot to distance itself from the NASL 10 years ago. MLS didn’t want the stigma of the way the league folded or the other problems the NASL had with FIFA and the USSF associated with it. However, after 10 years, I’m hoping MLS does more to embrace the history of the sport in …
