The sky isn’t falling US Soccer fans

Don’t get me wrong, losing yesterday to Mexico in the final of the Gold Cup hurt.  We should not ever lose a match that bad to anyone…especially not to our neighbors.

A step back for soccer in the US?

It started quietly enough.  Steven Geoff posted on his Washington Post blog that the huge World Cup Qualifier between Mexico and the US would not be on ESPN but on mun2.

The really is the most amusing show on TV right now.

Ah Sven, every fan north of the Rio Grande knew this would end in sorrow.

US Soccer fans are never happy

Seriously, you’d have thought we had just lost at home to Granada (no offense to the Grenadians) or something, anything, other than stuffing Trinidad and Tobago 3-0. Hey, at least we aren’t Mexico.

Am I the only one outside of Ohio or the NY/NY Metro area that is excited about the MLS Cup Final?  The last few years I’ve come around to accepting and actually enjoying the playoffs–must be because LA haven’t been involved.  The match Saturday night in SLC was entertaining.  …

I always love a US/Mexico game. Bottom line, nobody wants to lose this one. It’s too bad there was a lot more passion in the match than actually ability as a team…for both sides. I sat there for most of the match thinking, who is this US side? Mexico is finally learning how to play against us. Landon and Dempsey were both non-factors. Yep, it’s that same scoreline again. I doubt I’ll ever get tired of it either. Now, if only we could do that South of the border…but why am I being negative. It’s the scoreboard that counts tonight. We’ll dissect the actual performance later.

I was raised on English terrace chants so I’ve no idea what’s going on here. (I also don’t speak Spanish) I’m assuming it’s before the gates open. Whatever it is, it sure got me pumped up for a match.
