I realize I haven’t posted in a while but to be honest, I probably would have just ranted about something or other so I decided to keep myself limited to 140 characters.
However, do to some serendipitous events, possibly due to some planetary alignment or the SuperMoon, I found myself flipping through all the games last night and felt the urge to write something.
First, besides the late games (Goats cramming those attending into parts of the stadium to make it look fuller than it was, and Smurph fans scared of a …

What the heck was that? Think about it, you score 4 goals in the first 20 minutes of a game on the road and still struggle to win? C’mon now, that was just crazy. Sure, it was entertaining but it was poorly played at the back for both teams.
In the half-a-day or so since the match ended, I’ve read everything from, “it was the greatest MLS match ever,” even though it wasn’t an MLS match to,” it was a sloppy mess and proof MLS is crap.” …

WooHoo!!! It’s almost the weekend. This weekend is extra special as 1) I get to see the Galaxy play in person this week as they’ll be at Invesco–though the way they’ve been playing on the road the last couple of years, I’m not sure it’s a good thing–and 2) The Championship season starts in England and Ipswich will be playing Cardiff.
Not sure why I find it ironic, but as much as fan groups in this country maintain they should be able to stand like fans in other countries, …

I didn’t watch the game on Sunday, but it seems Carlos Ruiz was a no show. However, on Thursday he was in Dallas opening a new Hooters restaurant. Mmmm…as usual, there’s something Fishy going on here.
What’s the current odds he won’t be in MLS next season?
Article says he’s tired of all the travel involved in MLS play…of course, if he’s in Guatemala right now, there’s even more travel he’s had. Must be nice to have all those frequent flyer miles.

Once again, the Open Cup offers us some giant-killing results and some favorites needed Extra Time to get past smaller teams.
Rochester 2 - 1 Virginia Beach
Rochester needed a late winner to get past the rival USL 1 team.
Western Mass 1 - 3 Chicago
Chicago went a goal down early on the road against the USL 2 side before getting three back before the break.
Charlotte 2 - 3 Chivas (AET)
Chivas had to fight to get past the USL 2 side and didn’t come out on top until Extra Time was played.
Atlanta 1 …

Yes, it’s been a while since I last posted on here. My life has taken a few unexpected turns which has led me to move halfway cross the country and away from LA. But if you’re reading this, I doubt you care about me so I’ll just promise now that the new MLS season has started to be more vigilant with my posts.
So, here are a few recent observations of mine:
The whole Landon Donovan to LA deal seems a bit strange any way you look at it. The AEG spin …

We’ve started the second season of two-leg playoffs in MLS and the complaining about lack of home field advantage has returned. The primary argument is that the new format doesn’t give the team with the better regular season record a real advantage. True, that the way it was designed. Yes, it does make the fact that teams have played 30 matches to weed out 2 teams only to play a two-leg playoff with no advantage for the team who’d preformed better. Columbus who hasn’t lost a match in over half …
