The other day I started to have a “chicken and egg” discussion with myself—yeah, I know. Anyway, is it because teams are good that they have the most fans or are the teams good because they have the most fans and, therefore, are able to make the most money to spend on players?

It’s a Funny Ol’ Game…

I have to laugh sometimes at how people jump from one extreme to another. We seem to have become a bi-polar society or something—not that I’m an expert on the topic or anything. The American soccer fan is a prime example of this.

The other day I received a Facebook message asking if I’d be interested in being interviewed on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Rock n Goal Years show. As always, I had to give a response explaining how I’ve got a great face for radio.

Stop telling me what to think

I’m sorry, I’ve put up with this for years.  However, this soccer related elitism our friends from Britain (or who want to be from Britain) want to impose on us “Yanks” has got to stop.

I knew the US National Soccer team had the ability to play much better than they had and produce much better results but I honestly didn’t believe they would…well not this soon.

Twitter me this…

I first signed up for Twitter a while ago.  I heard about it, signed up to check it out, and then went back to Facebook.  However, a few months ago I started getting bored with Facebook.  Yeah, it’s been great reconnecting with a huge number of former classmates and co-workers but when everyone keeps send app invites and I spend more time ‘ignoring’ them all than I do actually catching up with old friends, well I just felt like staying away.

I use a few social networks (mostly Facebook, LinkedIn and Last.fm) and see the value of each of them. I’ve been thinking how can a similar concept be used within organizations. What would be a useful way to take some aspects from each of those sites to create something which would be useful to organizations?
LinkedIn is great for maintaining your external business contacts and for keeping in touch with former co-workers. But it really doesn’t do much more than that.
Facebook is fun, but I’ve yet to completely …
