As if playing Chelsea tonight in a friendly isn’t enough….the even Empire (AEG) is announcing the sale of the team to local investors.
Now, anyone who reads my blog on a regular basis knowns I’m not the biggest fan of AEG–or at least the way they do things in LA–so I can only see this move as a positive for the fans in DC. Looks like they’ll be getting a new stadium as well, though I’m not holding my breath until it’s official. Hope it’s a good match tonight and congrats …
So, I’m bumping around looking at articles and Google News has a million stories titled, Freddy Abu’s D.C. United Face Chelsea. (try it, go to Google News and type in Freddy Abu)

He’s 16 and driving a brand new $44,000 BMW….it sure is a far cry from my first car–or my current ride for that matter.
Well done AP (0)
It’s a great day for DC fans …
Granted, there were a lot of Pumas fans at RFK last night, but hats off to the DC faithful for the turn out last night. Over 21k on a Wednesday night for a non-MLS game? That’s gotta be a record. Entertaining match as well. This is what the Champions Cup should be. I only got to catch pieces of the match, but I managed to catch both goals. I guess the only disappointments last night were 1) the result…DC will have their work cut out in Mexico City and 2) …
