We landed in Mrs. PZ’s hometown. A mid-sized midwest city. I’d basically given up on being the chance of watching a match in an ale house of some kind. I grew up with the belief that soccer is a social sport. You watch it with friends…or at least cool strangers. However, it didn’t seem to be possible here.

Growing up and going to matches at Portman Road, it was always exciting to see a TV camera sitting in some basket lift above the Churchmans Stand. That would be the indication that we’d get to see the highlights of the match on Match of the Day that night. Of course, that was long before SkyTV brought their millions to show live matches. Now, hardly a match takes place without a camera…and now with the broadcast choices we have, we get to see a lot of matches from the far …

Hands up all those who have ever heard of Artmedia Bratislava. Yeah, me neither. Geez, how the heck can Celtic lose 5-0 even it it’s away? Boy, it’ll be a long trip back from Slovakia–can’t believe it took several minutes to find that…yes, I had to look up where the teams from–for the Green and White skirt wearer’s.
So, it should be an interesting return leg in Glasgow. Celtic have to win by at least 5 goals. I wonder what went wrong? Maybe Scottish Footie isn’t that good…though I’m sure Rangers …

I was sure this score would go into double digits. However, Liverpool only manage a 3-0 win over Welsh champions TNS. It could have been closer if Steven Gerrard wasn’t playing as he got all three goals.
