Snooze season

2 March 2009 No Comment

I realize it’s probably just me–heck, I’m sure it’s just me–but this is the worst time of the year for sports.  Football season ended over a month ago.  Nothing but basketball on right now (yes, I live in Indiana and just can’t watch the sport…well, except the tournament which is still a couple weeks away) heck, I even watched about 5 minutes of the we can only turn left race on Sunday…yawn.

Do they still show on TV?  Seriously, I know they do but it’s tough to find for a casual fan like me.  Must be how it is for something who has a passing interest in MLS but not enough to research when games are on.

MLS and are still a few weeks off.  I’m excited about both but it’s not like where there are hours of mindless preseason stuff on ESPN all day.  I’d love to get some preseason news (besides the, “is Becks going to stay in Italy” BS coming out of the British press) and get a feel for what the seasons are going to look like.  When I was single, I’d put that stuff together and usually do my own season previews.  Don’t have that much time now.  Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to sit in my recliner and just watch hours of discussion on the upcoming MLS season?  Heck, how about an hour?

Maybe Speed has something for .  I’ve no idea.  I only watch that channel when a race is on.  I used to flip trough this time of year looking for some bobsledding or luge stuff….fun to watch…would love to try it.  Dunno if they still show it…haven’t looked.

Yeah, there’s the in Europe.   However, my team is in the Championship and any hopes of promotion are fading.  The Premiership looks like it’s just a matter of time before Man U do it again.  There’s always the Champions League, but matches are played while I’m at work and….well, it’s just not the same.

Boy, I really sound like a complainer here.  However, with all this new media we get, why is it so hard for me to find something I’m interested in watching?
