Operation Tango
Ah yes, the last day of the season. Two teams still in with a chance of the title. Make that, two cross-town rival teams in with a chance of the title. It all comes down to the results on the final day to decide who are the champions.
So, your team is in poll position. Your boys only have to win and the title is yours. Your rivals have to win and hope you don’t in order to lift the trophy. Is that the time to pull a prank? Sure, why not? At least that’s what it seems Rangers fans did. With Rangers a goal up in 22nd minute, Rangers fans all sent texts to their Celtic supporting buddies saying they’d given up a goal and things were level meaning the hopes of Celtic fans weren’t over…yet.
Well, it turned out to be false…Dundee hadn’t scored and ended up being thumped 3-0….Celtic, for their part, could only manage a 0-0 draw which wouldn’t have helped them anyway.
Thanks to the Internet for organizing the prank and YouTube for allowing those thousands of miles away to enjoy the moment with the Blue half of Glasgow.
Well done the ‘Gers for the title and the great prank. My only question though is, I need proof that Rangers fans really have friends who support Celtic. Honest, I think that’s a prank as well.
