I'd like to think it could work and become popular, but until the domestic league is popular, you're not going to attract much interest in a champions league. Plus, wouldn't the Mexican clubs like America, Pachuca and Chivas just totally dominate? And don't they already compete in the Libertadores and Sudamericana in South America?
