I’ve been having a lot of fun with my English friends the last few months leading up to yesterday’s big USA-England match. The result was fair and both sides should be encouraged by the other group match as to their chances of moving on.
I was 10 years old when I got to see Ipswich play on TV for the first time. It was in the FA Cup Final. At that time, I figured the whole world stopped so everyone could watch the match and it was an even bigger deal cuz my team was actually playing this time.
The other day I received a Facebook message asking if I’d be interested in being interviewed on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Rock n Goal Years show. As always, I had to give a response explaining how I’ve got a great face for radio.
I’ve been having a lot of fun–maybe too much–winding up my English friends ever since the World Cup draw in December. To be honest, the best thing about playing England in the first round of the next month is listening to their over-confidence and giving them grief on how little they really know about the sport of soccer in the US.
