Lost @ LAX
Here’s some quick thoughts I have after watching last nights episode. Need to watch it again though. I’m kinda jump back and forth with my thoughts so I hope you can follow.
I keep going back and forth on Jacob and this other “smokey” guy. Everyone keeps assuming that Jacob is doing the good here, but I don’t buy it entirely. I keep going back to the start of last season’s finale when the smoke/lock dude said, “… They come. They fight. They destroy. They corrupt. It always ends the same.” So, is Jacob trying to prove something else? We know the Dharma people fought and destroyed things. We know the Flight 815 folk didn’t always get along. The French crew?….Rousseau shot them all….after they’d gone underground. The Black Rock? Witmore & Ben? There’s always some sort of power struggle going on. Do people have a choice? Or is it something along the lines that there is no true Black and White…just a bunch of grays?
Then there’s Rose and Bernard who lived 3 years on the island together without worrying about anyone else. Where were they last night? My gut is, they are key. Besides shooting at the dynamite when the others attacked them, neither of them have done any fighting. They haven’t really destroyed anything and I haven’t seen any signs of corruption involving them.
Why did Jacob let Ben kill him without much struggle? Jacob told Ben he had a choice whether or not to kill him….free will? I guess Jacob wanted to be killed so he could…well, I’m assuming the Sayid connection.
Speaking of Sayid, how’s this for irony? Sayid shot Ben, Ben was taken to the Temple and (we assume) healed in their pool. Later, Roger shoots Sayid, Sayid is taken to the Temple and healed in their pool.
Richard in chains? Slave? Jacob’s slave and set free upon his death? Jacob is the one you made him not age. Will we see Richard start to age now?
What will the course correction be for those who made it off the island? (I’ll call them Lost’—as in Lost Prime) Why would Locke’s knives disappear with Shepard’s body. Was it just so Jack and John would meet?
Hey, Charlie’ is trying to kill himself now….on the island, he was trying to avoid death. Come to think of it, Hurley is now the luckiest man alive. Locke is feeling great after his Walkabout. Jack’ is nervous and being calmed by Rose’. Cindy’ only gave Jack’ one bottle, not a second to put in his jacket pocket. Rose’ and Bernard’ seem to have figured out their disagreement (about the faith healer) Everyone’ is the opposite of who they were before.
Well, I don’t think we saw Jin’ and Sun’, he was back to being an asshole. Also, Sawyer’ and Kate’ didn’t seem to change either. Oh well, maybe I wasn’t on to something there. Don’t forget, Jack’ could still have met Desmond’ while running in the stadium so the recognition could be there.
Desmond’ is on the plane pushing a button. Well, if the island was blown up in 1977, Witmore would have still been on the island. Penny may never have been born at that point so he isn’t doing any better that the version which pushed the button for 3 years.
Back on the island, I never fully learned another language so it’s tough to understand what other languages taste like.
The group at the Temple were shooting off fire works. Will flaming arrows be next?
Why doesn’t Juliet say, “it worked”? How does she know? Yet, even though Jack was right, Sawyer is still pissed at him. There’s the bit where Juliet seems to be asking Sawyer out on a date or something. Not sure if “getting coffee” is Sawyers usual kind of date but….anyway, she then says they can go dutch. Just a theory but, perhaps Sawyer’ does end up meeting Juliet’ in Miami or something and they end up together anyway? Perhaps the same goes for others. The real question is, does Hurley’ meet Libby’ and actually get to go on that date?
Oh, and has anyone ever been on a flight (especially one longer than 12 hours) where everyone was still in their seats as the cabin door opened so cops could come in and grab someone? C’mon people. Even if they made an announcement to stay in their seats until the cops grab the guy, you know there will be those who have opened their overhead compartment to grab their bags in order to make a quick get away. Also, I’ve flown through LAX more than a few times. There are so many people there, the chances of the Marshall (and Kate) finding a restroom that’s empty for that long are pretty slim. Also, shall we talk about traffic there? Even with a gun to my head, I couldn’t pull out and drive way faster than a bunch of cops running to catch me. (oh yeah, Hollywood isn’t real life)
