Games Without Frontiers

Enough with the negative stuff I’ve been posting lately.  I not sure why but I was reminded the other day about this show I watched as a kid in England called, “It’s a Knockout”…it’s the Euro counterpart (later rounds) “Jeux Sans Frontieres”.  And if you thought it had anything to do with Peter Gabriel, well, the TV show was the inspiration behind the song.

Twitter me this…

I first signed up for Twitter a while ago.  I heard about it, signed up to check it out, and then went back to Facebook.  However, a few months ago I started getting bored with Facebook.  Yeah, it’s been great reconnecting with a huge number of former classmates and co-workers but when everyone keeps send app invites and I spend more time ‘ignoring’ them all than I do actually catching up with old friends, well I just felt like staying away.

Do they still show NHL on TV?  Seriously, I know they do but it’s tough to find for a …

Probably the most important thing about creating and maintaining a blog is to keep it current with fresh information. After all, why go through the hassle of putting something together if you aren’t going to do anything with yet. Yeah, I’ll buy the “cuz the creating is the fun bit” argument but, well, for a blog to be anything, it needs regular updates—you need to post regularly. Ha, I guess I’ve failed there.

This should sound a bit familiar to MLS fans.
According to U.F.L. executives, Nocera reports, the new league will emulate the old American Football League – one of whose major characteristics was revenue sharing. Each owner will put up $30 million, worth a half-interest in a team; the league will own the other half. Eventually, the plan envisions that fans will become stakeholders – because each team will sell shares to the public to raise an average of $60 million per franchise. Public ownership will reduce the pricing pressure on the …

I don’t believe it. I was out all day. I wasn’t anywhere near an internet connection or anyone that I know who would be interested in the MLS Championship game. I set my DVR to record the match and even an hour after the scheduled time to finish. I got home, put my 18-month-old to bed and kicked back in my recliner to enjoy the match…
